the healing power of homoeopathy
I have recently recommended ‘The Work’ by Katie Byron to a few people.
She has developed a way of questioning your own beliefs and attitudes and altering them in a way that you see fit, in order to improve your life. It is quite simple and straightfoward. It is a way of saying, ‘Yes, I believe this, is it true and does it help me?’.
You can do this on your own, but she provides some good work sheets on how you can do this.
I thought I’d provide a link here, The Work by Katie Byron please have a look and leave me some feedback on what you think. I hope you find it useful.

When someone is not listening to you, no matter how hard you try. Try listening to them instead.
You might need to listen.
You can learn their point of view better so you won’t be tackling them head on. You can try explaining from their point of view instead of yours.
Who knows, they might even be right anyway?

I am very happy to say that I will be unavailable for the next two weeks (26th September - 11th October) as I will be on holiday in the Canaries. If you would like me to contact you on my return please email me by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. My voicemail does not tend to hold messages for more than 5 days.
Should you need homoeopathic help over this time, please contact Francis or David at the Homeopathy Helpline.
Please keep an eye on this space as I’m hoping there will be some exciting news on this site shortly after my return.

The leaves on all the trees on my way to work are distinctly brown now signifying the end of summer. Going to the festivals to treat people on site was a fantastic experience. We treated a wide range of problems from bites and bruises to panic attacks and chronic sinusitis, with many in between. It was great work and I hope I have made some life-long friends. Several people had not heard of it before, many confused it with other therapies and more than a few have now changed their minds about it, which is the main aim anway. One gentleman I saw has even gone from sceptic to converted student of homoeopathy, which is a small miracle in itself and one that has made my time even more enjoyable.

Ok, so the weather wasn’t exactly all it was expected to be. Yes the mud was an experience in itself. Especially when you have come along with wellies with ‘trainer-like soles’ that seemed a good idea at the time but once on, I realise they have no grip whatsoever. Perhaps a zimmerframe would have been a better idea? But the rain and cold meant more people sheltering in our marquee and the more mud around the more pleasant and peaceful it made the healing fields seem.

On the first night of Glastonbury we had the most spectacular sunset I think I have seen in this country for years and years. We were all certain it was a sign that the weather was going to be absolutely beautiful. Ok, perhaps our homoeopathy knowledge is a little better than our meteorology? But the sun did come out to dry us out just in time for us to leave on monday afternoon.

Eastern Haze festival in Suffolk in July seemed to be the only place in the country that didn’t suffer too badly with the floods. Plus being enclosed in our own festival-capsule we were unaware as to how badly others had it. Eastern Haze was much smaller than Glastonbury but just as crazy. It was spread out over quite a large space without the huge crowds to fill it, it felt a little like a partially deserted town in a western movie. A much smaller team at Eastern Haze meant we had much more time together and made for a very close-knit weekend with a very relaxed attitude. Ok, maybe the free hot showers and saunas 100 feet away helped us to provide a more tranquil atmosphere too.

The Cambridge Folk festival was my last stop with the Travelling Homoeopaths Collective and what a great stop it was too. The most relaxed atmosphere of the summer, despite us being the busiest we’d been. The rain was gone (mostly) the deck chairs, picnic blankets and jugs of cider were out in numbers, as were the mozzies. It did feel very sophisticated to recline on a deck chair listening to the music with a few friends. Though admitedly some were glued to Harry Potter, which had come out on the friday. It was in stark contrast to Glastonbury where millions stood in raincoats, ankle deep in mud trying to catch a glimpse of the stage without toppling over.
All together a wonderful time, great people, lots of great results, good conversations, new friends and enough instant noodles to last a lifetime!
Apologies if you have been unable to contact me on the old number but I have been having problems with it.
As always please feel free to email me at fionarodden@fionarodden.com
It is great to strive for things, to have ambition and drive to change yourself and the world. But how do you know what you have changed unless you take a moment to take stock?
“If I just have…” is something we hear so often. “If I just lose those few pounds”, “If I could only earn a little more” are just a couple of examples of how people focus on the future. It is not wrong to want these things, but if we focus all our energy on our next step or the step after that, then we might forget where we are standing.
Remembering the statement ‘you have arrived’ is just one way of looking down at your feet.

There are many theories about how homoeopathy works: memory of water, electromagnetic frequencies, quantum physics even helps to understand it. This is how I like to understand it…

Every atom in every molecule vibrates at its own frequency. When you put together all the atoms in all the molecules of your body you arrive at one big, completely individual vibrational frequency. When you are out of balance or unwell your vibrational frequency changes slightly in any manner of different ways.
The homoeopathic remedy is a natural substance that is so dilute that no material substance is left of the original material. The way is it prepared means that the vibrational frequency is amplified and simplified.
The homoeopath takes a very details case history in order to understand your individual state so that she can find a substance that matches the same symptoms (or frequency) as closely as possible.
Taking this carefully chosen remedy acts as a way of putting two very similar vibrational frequencies together. The homoeopathic remedy is stronger than the disease and very similar, so it cancels it out. The homoeopathic remedy produces a state in the patient which is artificial but incredibly close to the state they were in before. The remedy is only a temporary state so after a few hours/weeks/months it is overpowered by the person’s own natural, healthy vibrational frequency.
If you are musically minded you can think of two tuning forks for the same note. You hit one gently and then the next harder and hold them together. The louder, stronger note of the same frequency will cancel out the weaker one.
In contrast, conventional medicine aims to produce an opposite state to that which the body is producing in order to cancel out this change in vibration. However, you are then working againstthe body’s natural state, not withit. In this way the body will often continue to produce the same symptoms (or vibration), which often means as a consequence that the patient must continue to take the same medicine to afford the same relief. With homoeopathic treatment relief is gained by the body’s reaction to the remedy, not the remedy itself. This means that the body is healing itself and is generally more likely to be able to heal itself in the future.
